Victoria Falls is the adventure capital of Southern Africa. The Batoka Gorge directly below the waterfall — a 100-metre-deep basalt canyon carved by the Zambezi over millions of years — generates some of the world’s most intense commercially rafted white water. The Bridge itself, straddling the Zimbabwe-Zambia border, holds a 111-metre bungee jump. Above it all, helicopter and microlight flights circle the spray cloud in the mornings. White-Water Rafting
The Batoka Gorge rapids run from the base of Victoria Falls downstream through a series of named drops, graded IV to V at low water (June–January). Rafting is not possible during peak flood (roughly February to April) when the gorge fills and the most exposed rapids become too dangerous for commercial trips.
What you get: A full-day rafting trip typically covers 23 km and 23 rapids. The trip begins with a descent into the gorge (either by walking trail or cable car) and ends with a climb out — both are demanding in their own right. Lunch is provided on the riverbank. Bungee Jumping — Victoria Falls Bridge
The Victoria Falls Bridge bungee is 111 metres above the Zambezi. At the moment of jumping, you are directly over the Batoka Gorge with the gorge walls on both sides and the river below. It is one of the most photogenic bungee jumps in the world.

These two activities run from a platform on the gorge rim, roughly 2 km downstream from the bridge. The gorge swing is a 70-metre pendulum swing into the gorge that reaches approximately 120 km/h at the bottom of the arc. The flying fox is a 100-metre zipline across a section of the gorge.

The gorge swing is often rated as a higher adrenaline experience than the bungee by repeat visitors — the sudden fall and rapid change of direction is harder to mentally prepare for than a straight drop.
Helicopter Flights — Flight of Angels
A 13-minute helicopter circuit over the Falls, crossing from the Zimbabwe side to the Zambian side and back. At full flow (March–July), the spray cloud reaches 400 metres and the view from above is extraordinary. In dry season, you trade the drama of the spray for a clearer view of the full waterfall width.

Booking and Practical Tips
Activity packages: Most operators sell combination packages (rafting + bungee, or helicopter + gorge swing, etc.) at a modest discount over individual prices. If you plan to do more than two activities, ask at your hotel or the Shearwater booking office on Livingstone Way for current package rates.
Best order for a multi-activity day: Do the gorge activities (rafting, bungee) before any helicopter or microlight flight — you want to arrive fresh. If combining rafting with an evening activity, build in at least two hours for the gorge climb-out and recovery.
